Finalists Announced for 2012 Business Excellence Awards

    Nine local companies and entrepreneurs are finalists in the 2012 Business Excellence Awards presented by the Chamber of Commerce Brantford Brant.
    The finalists were announced at an invitation only reception at the Brantford Golf and Country Club. The event, hosted by the Chamber, was attended by event sponsors, previous award winners, members of the Chamber Board of Directors and local dignitaries.
    “We have an impressive and diverse group of companies and entrepreneurs nominated for the 2012 business excellence awards which illustrates the strength of our community and the impact that business has on our quality of life” said Chamber President, Cathy Oden.
   The Company Award recognizes unusual business achievements, high standards of employee relations, entrepreneurial skills and making a positive impact in the community.
  The Entrepreneur Award recognizes an individual who operates a business at their own financial risk, demonstrates excellence in community relations, product innovation and sales or employment growth.
   The Technology Award recognizes ingenuity and innovation in developing and implementing a new technology, process, product or service.
    Finalists in the Company, Entrepreneur and Technology categories were profiled at the reception; the winners of each category will be announced at the annual Business Excellence Awards Gala on Thursday May 10^th, 2012, in the Grand Ballroom of the Best Western Brant Park Inn and Conference Centre.
   This year's finalists are: 
Company Category: Brant Mutual Insurance Company,  Brantwood Residential Development Centre, and Mitten Inc.
Entrepreneur Category: Dr. Alfred and Paulette Hauk- Holistic Healing Arts Centre; Michael Clawsie - Clawsie Kitchens; and Mal McEachern – Gilbert-McEachern Electric.
